Yesterday my friend BreAna came to visit us with her little 1 yr old, Adysen. After having Zsolt around, Jaden has gotten much better at playing with younger kids. I was amazed that he actually let her play with some of his toys and he would crawl after her which would make her giggle and crawl faster. When she put his big blocks in her mouth Jaden did the same thing and thought it was soo funny. Usually Jaden plays around other kids rather than with them, so this interaction was really something new. I wish I had taken a picture now that I think of it. Course he wasn't always the perfect host and would take stuff away from her and rush to his room, but the improvement was impressive.
When it was time for them to go Jaden ran and got his shoes and socks. "Sorry buddy, we're staying here. Baby is going bye bye." (Jaden calls anyone his age or younger baby). Jaden said bye bye then rushed to the window to watch them get in their car. After they drove away he started crying. "baby bye bye." He whined over and over again. I didn't realize he was so attatched! I told him she would come and play again sometime, but it took nearly 20 min. to get him completly settled down. At which point he kept saying "mwa mwa" and I finally realized the poor thing wanted a kiss. So I gave him a kiss and it was all better.
I told Jaden Baby Bella would be here soon and she would stay here with us, and he could play with her all he wants when she gets old enough. I'm very comforted by the fact that he WANTS to be around younger kids. I think he's going to make a great big brother!
Thanks for coming Bre! We had so much fun and it really made my day go so much faster (these last few days are sooooo slow). We'll have to do again sometime soon! Oh & Happy Birthday Adysen!

Mountian Drive
Saturday, Ryan thought it would be fun to take a drive up in the mountains and have a picnic. He's been working up at park city and has mentioned how the trees in the canyon are already turning colors! So we got situated in our nice comfy minivan and up we went! Ryan found this fun spot by a pretty lake where we ate lunch and Jaden got to throw rocks in the lake. He really liked it when Daddy would throw one really far.

2!!!!
Seriously? Seriously, my baby is 2! I guess I can't call him my baby anymore what with the new baby coming next week. He certainly looks more like a child than a baby now anyway. I just can't believe how fast its gone.
So at his 2 yr appointment he measured at:
wt: 22 lb (<5%)
ht: 34 in (40%)
So yes he is still underweight and we get to continue to try to fatten him up with pediasure, and butters and oils. Healthwise, he is in fabulous shape. He rarely gets sick and though we all recently had a cold, he had the easiest with no more than a runny nose. Of which he likes to wipe and blow himself. What a big boy.
His motor skill are advanced as always, he is very fast both forward and backword, and he loves to jump. He likes to jump of the second to bottom stair as well as the couch, and anything else he can jump off of.
His vocabulary is growing daily. He knows a lot of words, even some numbers and letters and loves loves LOVES to sing. His favorite is "the wheels on the bus" He interacts a bit more with kids his own age, though sharing is just not an option. I guess he'll have to get over that with baby sister.
He loves playing with blocks and cars and he really loves the kitchen set we got him for his birthday. He'll cook something up and bring it out for us to taste before running back to add something else.
He's become very good at teasing, I wonder where that came from? and he is really good at taking his naps and going to bed, which is sooo nice. we're worried that'll change when Bella comes, but hopefully it won't be long before he can get back on routine. He likes things to be very structured so he knows what to expect.
It's been a hard couple of months with this pregnancy and I feel like I havn't been a very good mom to Jaden. Even so, he's mostly been a really good boy. Sometimes he tantrums, but not over often, and mostly he'll go and play by himself or let me sit on the couch and watch while he shows me how he plays. He's very giggly. He's very much a Daddy's boy right now and can't wait for Daddy to come home and play with him. I can't say as I blame him, daddy is much more fun than I am right now.
Anyway this is very scattered but hopefully ya got the gist of my big 2 year old boy. I love him tons and think he's going to make a great big brother!

Happy Birthday!
For Jaden's 2nd birthday we did a joint party with Zsolt who turned one a week before Jaden turned 2. So we decided to celebrate together. There are a billion pictures but this should give you a pretty good idea of how it went.
first here's the invite. I didn't invite very many so don't feel bad if you didn't get one.
Here's the present tables before the party started. Yeah presents already. Spoiled.
Here's my balloon animal decorations. Cute huh?
Sara and I made these great felt animals that the kids could take aapart and put back together. They enjoyed mixing and matching pieces.
Here's some silly people playing the balloon coral game. Here's how it's played. Ryan, Sara, and I made these pink and white balloons cows and pigs. There were two tables turned over to use as corrals. The object was to corral your teams animals. The toddlers could do so any way they could anyone older had to use their nose. Jaden liked to try using his nose too. See the video in the previous post. It's hilarious!
Jaden opening presents. He loved EVERYTHING but wanted to play with each toy as soon as he opened it. to see more present opening see the videos from the previous post.
Happy family peeps watching Jaden open presents.
Our adorable cupcakes! Mom Sara and I made.
Jaden and Zsolt's cupcakes
Neither Zsolt nor Jaden made too much a mess with their cakes, but they did enjoy them. Jeden especially liked the marshmellow ears. To see more cake eating check out the video in the previous post.

New addition to our family
No not THAT addition, but our new (not so new) minivan! Yay! I've been mentioning to Ryan that we needed one, our car feels so crowded with two car seats, there wouldn't be enough room for luggage to travel and I really feel such tiny car is a bit unsafe for a family. if we got in a wreck it would fold up like an accordian. Ryan then gave me all the good reasons why we should not get a minivan. insurance and registration costs, Gas milage, won't fit in our little garage. . . all good and valad points. I consented to wait. Then that evening while I was taking a bath he was looking up used minivans on ksl.com. He found a 2005 Kia Sadona for $7000. Feeling confident that we could afford that he took it for a test drive today and brought it back here where I took it for a test drive. It wasn't my minivan of choice, but what can I say the Hondas cost WAY more!
Anyway, I loved driving it! Even with my pregnant belly I can reach the pedals and still have room so my belly doesn't rub on the steering wheel. So Nice! It's a smaller minivan so I don't have to feel huge, but still has plenty of room for the kiddos and lots of other stuff! Turns out insurance won't cost much more than we were paying for the truck. Yay! So we took it to our ward mechanic who gave it the a-ok and decided it was indeed the minivan for us.
So Ryan put our good little Nissan truck up on ksl.com and within 1 minute got a call. He's out cleaning it right now cause they're coming to look at it. We can't afford insurance & registration on 3 vehicles so bye bye truck.
Anyway, here she is. You can't tell the color too well cause of the shadows, but she's tan. Now I just need to relearn how to park a vehicle that doesn't turn on a dime. I'm excited to have a minivan though! Yay!

Baby Bump update
Here's a picture intermission so I can give you the latest baby bump update. Bella is due the 14th of Oct, but my doc has decided if I would like he would induce a week early. Guess what I said? Heck Yeah!! So she is now scheduled to be induced on Oct. 7th. Yay!
On the not so pleasant side I now have to go to the doc twice a week! Even though my blood sugar has been kept well under control and Bella is at an ideal weight of just over 5lbs right now, the docs biggest concern is that with the gestational diabetes sometimes the placenta will pull away early resulting of course in a starved baby. Scary Much?
So on Tuesdays I now have my usual non-stress test where I'm strapped to a machine that records Bella's heartbeat for 30 min. minimum. During this time she MUST be awake and active. Poor thing gets pestered if she tries to fall asleep during the test. Then I also have a fluids check on Tues. with the ultrasound technition to make sure the placenta is still working as it should. Fun huh?
Then Thursdays I have my usual docter appointment with the ever so pleasant pelvic exam (please note the extreme sarcasm here as I hate that part very much).
But I am feeling rather optimistic what with having just 3 weeks left instead of 4, also I do like the convienience of being induced. I was with Jaden (cause he was late) and it went so smoothly I certainly have no problems doing that again. Plus my mom can plan to come that day instead of having to frantically rush down from Idaho to watch Jaden for us. Yay! Can't wait to see you Bella!

Heritage Park Shoot
Friday we took the kiddos to This is the Place Heritage Park. My mom accompanied us thankfully since we could always use some extra hands and eyes with these two. The park was really neat with pony rides, a petting zoo, a fun play area for the kids, train rides, and while we were there they even did a civil war reenactment, which we didn't go to since it was REALLY LOUD, but soo neat. There are also tons of old buildings to go through and some craft areas. I would love to go back some time when I'm not so pregnant and towing a 2 year old along.
Anyway, our goal of this shoot was to get some good "farm" pics of Jaden and Zsolt, preferrably together. Of course that's easier said than done. This first pic is the only really good one we got with them together and as you can see, we had to bribe them to sit still with some grahm crackers.

Once Jaden got over his fear of this big horsey, he really enjoyed the ride!
This was so funny, at the petting zoo Jaden was trying to pet this lamb but it kept walking away from him, not to be discouraged Jaden was determined to keep up until it stopped. Looks like he's pushing it along. Remember you can click on the pics for a bigger version.

There was a cool old school house where Jaden enjoyed drawing on the slate at the desk.
Here's how Ryan felt about the whole thing, he was so tired from us always dragging him around somewhere after work. He was a good sport though. . . mostly. ;o)

Temple Square Shoot
On Thursday we went to Temple Square for a family photoshoot. We soon discovered that getting a family photo with a 2 year old is about as easy as chasing a cheetah. We also went after Ryan got home from work and were running out of daylight, but I think we got some good ones. Starting with this first one that is now my favorite family pic.

Maternity Shoot
For those of you who don't know, maternity shots are really "in" right now. I have so very few pictures of me pregnant with Jaden, that I thought I'd take the opportunity with my free BF photographer that I feel comfortable enough with to show my hideous giant belly to. Hee. Here's a few of my favs. Oh and yes I do have horrid stretch marks all over my tummy, but yay photoshop made me look much better. I love photoshop. So here's me just before 8 months pregnant.

Sara's Visit!
Monday the 7th my BF Sara came to stay with us for a week! Her hubby Nate has to work in California for 3 weeks and much to his and Sara's disappointment that meant missing Zsolt's first birthday! I didn't like her celebrating his big 1 with just the two of them in Montana so I invited them here to have a great joint party with Jaden! Zsolt turned 1 on the 10th & Jaden turns 2 on the 17th so we met in the middle and had a great party on the 12th. (more of that later).
While Sara was here she was a BIG help. She cleaned my kitchen (multiple times as it somehow keeps getting dirty), gave Jaden his baths, which he insisted on bathing whenever Zsolt did, baby sat when I had to go to my doctor's appointment, did some laundry, and probably a ton of other stuff too. Mostly she made the week fly by which is wonderful since every day seems like a week with this gigantic belly of mine. Zsolt also kept Jaden busy. He followed him everywhere. Jaden diligently tried to keep his toys to himself, but couldn't resist constantly seeing what Zsolt was up to also. Yesterday Morning Jaden said "Baby I don't know." I told him "Baby went bye bye, he went home with his mommy." To this Jaden sadly declared. "bye bye baby." I think he really enjoyed having Zsolt here, and despite his need to control everything (he was often saying "baby no no, naughty!") I think Jaden will make a great big brother. It was a good test run for him.
While here Sara also did several photo shoots. I love pictures! I even got daring enough to do a maternity shoot. I'll post each shoot in seperate posts as well as birthday stuff, but I thought I'd post some random highlights from Sara & Zsolt's stay. So what we always really want on a blog, here are the pictures. There are a TON of them with many more to come!
Jaden taking over the banging of the cupboards
Jaden insisted on pushing Zsolt's stroller around temple square. It is pretty much all we could get him to do.
There's our matching boys checking out the happenings outside.
Zsolt knawing on a zucchini, didn't like it cooked, but Mmm it's tasty raw!
Me & Sara showing of our cupcake piggys.
Jaden helping Ryan put together the new toy box he got for his birthday before we headed out for church
Below we have Jaden helping out with cooking Sunday dinner. Now that he has a kitchen set he is certain he knows everything there is to know about cooking.
First we need some flour.
Add a little water. check out his face, cooking is serious business.
Dip your plastic cookie into the mix. Mmmm that's tastey!
Last but certainly not least, me cooking barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. Just as Ryan says it should always be. Hee. Sara, thank you so much for coming and keeping us company and especially for all the time you spent taking pictures of us. We love you so much. Your family is welcome any time!
Stay tuned, MUCH more to come, could take me awhile to get it all up though.
