January can feel like such a let down. Christmas is over, all the lights and decorations come down, and yet the weather is still crappy and it gets dark WAY too early. Some ways we kick the January blues:
Blanket forts to sleep in! These particular ones were made when Olivia went and had a sleepover at Grandma Potter's the others felt a bit left out, but a night in blanket forts cheered them right up. They've done this a few times since.
Get dressed up. Okay so actually my children don't get all dolled up for the fun of it. This is the kiddos first Sunday in their new primary classes. Jaden has moved into Senior Primary. Bella is in . . . honestly I don't know what the class is called sorry, and Olivia starts her first day as a Sunbeam. I'm so proud of these kiddos.
Oh and this one? Now that we have afternoon church right at his nap time this one will pretty much be keeping me or Ryan our in the foyer for the next 6 months. yay. . .
How about a little art!
These are mostly fun Christmas projects the kids did in school . Also Olivia's coloring and Jaden's straight A report card. He brought up his language arts grade from a B to an A. I'm very proud of him!
Maybe some play dough therapy.
The girls along with Trinity have been make yummy play dough treats. They use them to play restaurant, baker, or sometimes just mom making breakfast.
Eat a banana. Perhaps that extra potassium will cheer ya up, or watch a baby eat a banana cause that cheered me up real fast.
Have a sucker.
This was actually after Lincoln's doctor checkup. The poor kid had to get his 1 year old shots and was not happy, until that sucker appeared and all was right again in the world.
Want a lick mom?
Play with a Balloon. Clearly it makes this one smile which then makes everyone smile!
This is his birthday balloon.
This balloon he got from Ryder's birthday party
Get some snazzy new glasses.
Take a nap. Um anywhere I guess.
Play in a box with Dad!
Make a healthy food toy. The kids actually made this cool guy at school.
Do some chores together. Olivia and Lincoln are helping me with the dishes.
Just play around with those silly siblings.
I think we'll make it through this Jan.!
