March: In like a lion out like a. . . blizzard?

Here is the tragic story of a blanky and a girl. The girl drug the balnky everywhere, even to the doctor when she got sick. Finally when the girl was starting to feel better, Mommy decided the blanky needed a wash. "No" screamed the girl. "All Done ALL DONE!" she cried. but the blanky continued to spin in the suds. Mommy even tried to give the girl snack to distract her, but she would not be consoled. After a little over an hour, the poor girl was finally reunited with her now clean and warm blanky.

Bella is obsessed with Grandpa Yancey's hats. One day when he was over she stole it and ran down stairs with it to model for me.
Speaking of modeling check out this kid! She's a natural!
A very common phrase from Jaden is "Take a picture of me!" I have finally started to tell him no, but at times I still can't resist his antics at trying to get a picture. Gotta love that face no matter where it's lookin'.

This is what happens when Bella is "bugging" Jaden and he tells her to go away. Yes I see this scrunchy face a lot!

Fortunately she quickly gets over it and back to her normal death defying antics.

And of course the doggy must be pushed around in the stroller several time a day!

A little cuddle time with Daddy.

So here is the end of March, I'm dying for spring, but this is all I see out my window.

So we went sledding!

Boring video of the kids sled ride, I didn't even know he was videoing it.

After the sled ride the kids had fun jumping on the tramp.

Aaand getting hit with snowballs.

Jaden thought he was so smart! He started hiding behind Bella.

But Daddy is smarter and nailed them both!

Here's a taste of spring with a nice wintery backdrop. Jaden's bean plant that he planted in pre-school now has a pretty little blossom. Thank you little plant for your cheery optimism. :)

Say Say Say What You Want

3/8/11
While playing Jaden's "Cars" game on the wii, Ryan comes down and sarcastically blurts, "Wow, you're really good at this."
"No, She not," Jaden counters. "look!" he points to the screen as my car crashes into yet another tree.
Thanks for the support little buddy.

3/9/11
While playing superheroes with the kids this morning (blanket capes and all) I decided Bella's super power is to lure evil doers in with her cuteness and then trap them with her incredible endless snot powers! Ewwww!

3/9/11
From Grandma: Jaden told me today that my smile was old and tired, but it still works. He also told me his cute smile was broken, but he had a new silly one. He makes me laugh!

3/11/11
Jaden was very concerned to look out the window this morning and see that our brand new tramp that daddy put up last Sat. was NOT where we left it! Luckily daddy found it in the road behind our house. Daddy's a super hero and will shortly be figuring out a way to anchor that baby down. :)

3/11/11
The other night I told Ryan that his belly button is a really deep inny like mine. He said, "Yeah cause I got fat." . . . did you just hear what I heard, oh yeah he totally called me fat. ;)

3/15/11
As I sit here at the computer Jaden asked me "Mommy are you typing to Jesus?"

3/18/11
Well the good news is. . . umm I'm really glad I took her into the doctor, the bad news. . . croup, ear infections, & RSV! well there goes my run of abnormally healthy children, my Bella is a super sick girl. :(

3/20/11
Jaden had a sleepover at grandma's last night. Made things much quieter in this sick house and Jaden really liked it too cause we're all to tired to give him much attention. Thanks Mom!

3/20/11
The kids are fighting again already. After screaming on both sides - Dad: "Jaden, can you give Bella ONE car?" Jaden: "Yeah." He gives her a car. "Now I want her to go away."

3/21/11
After everyone being sick I decided I HAD to wash Bella's Blanky. It's not going well. She's screamed for 10 min. already and I don't expect her to stop soon despite my distraction attempts. ALL DONE she keeps yelling at me. Poor thing.

St. Patty's Day!

The morning of the 17th Jaden woke up to find green footprints running around our house. He's the first up so from my bed I hear him say "Bust my boiler! well, bust MY boiler!" Then after a little bit "Oh I know, it means it's spring!" Silly boy. Anyhow if you happened to follow these footprints the led in the window up on the ceiling, down the stairs, all over the train tracks, into the new bathroom and up and out the window, with a pot of edible gold nuggets waiting!

Bella was excited to see the footprints too.

The note the leprechaun left with the gold. He wrote it teeny tiny, if you can't read it, don't worry I read it in the video below.

The Video. please excuse my froggy voice, I have a cold.

We then had breakfast of green 4 leaf clover pancakes with some serious green syrup!

Jaden had a blast at preschool. Here he is in his leprechaun hat and his gold! I know it's kinda blurry, but check out his fabulous sneaky leprechaun face! Hee I love it!

They made delicious 4 leaf clover rice crispy treats in preschool. Mmmm.

For dinner I actually had the relief society birthday dinner so I just gave the kids sandwiches and some yummy green applesauce for dinner.

Okay not St. Patty's day, but in the spirit of staying caught up here is Jaden's latest artwork!

As I said I have a cold, well Bella has something worse. We had a pretty bad night and in the morning my poor girl wouldn't even part with her comfort blanky to eat breakfast.

But she did think it was funny that I was taking her picture.

Later I took her to the doctor. After waiting 40 min. in urgent care waiting room and more time in an actual room the doctor came in and listened to her cough. He said she had croup, then looked in her ears, & an ear infection, then the nurse came in with the lab results and she tested positive for RSV. Neither of my children have ever had any one of these things and now Bella's got them all at once!  :( No wonder my baby doesn't feel good!
On the way out I saw our primary president with her little girl in waiting room. Oh dear, I hope this RSV isn't hitting all the little ones in the ward.
We loaded up at the pharmacy and now Bella's sleeping and I'm going to go join her.

March Madness

Nope not the basketball kind, just the everyday madness that I enjoy in my home. :)
Did you read awhile back our misadventure on the first warm day of march? Let me refresh your memory:
So it is Beautiful outside! When I picked up Jaden from preschool he was having a blast running around outside with Russell. Bella was enjoying running around too. Not wanting to return to my dreary house I invited my friend (Jaden's preschool teacher) to join us with her 2 kiddos out for lunch. By the time we got everything together though she only had a few minutes to eat before her kids dentist appointment. So she was super rushed and I felt bad to be the cause. But we had no where to be so once we were done eating we headed to the Mcdonalds playground. . . still locked up and closed for winter :( Now I had a very distraught boy. Not to be daunted I told him I'd take him over to our favorite playground. Happy boy again. We headed over there and got the kids out only to find the whole place flooded. I guess it didn't occur to me that the heat would melt all the lingering ice leaving large puddles. Duh. But unfortunately Jaden was already 2 inches deep in mud. Nothing to do but carry on! I made my way with Bella through the marsh and up on the equipment where she gladly checked things out. Jaden went down the slide on the far end and into 2 feet of water! I kid you not! he was completely soaked! Luckily he assured me he was okay, but said the playground was too wet (which I had stated earlier) I told him I was so sorry and stripped him him of his soaked clothes and we came home. :( So much for our fun day in the sun.
So if you look at Jaden's pants you can see hi is one wet wet boy!
My little warrior had a little fun with the paint at preschool, he's truly not capable of keeping the paint strictly to the project at hand no matter how hard he is trying.
I've been enjoying salads for lunch since we started getting the bountiful basket. This is lettuce and spinach with string cheese, strawberries, pecans, and craisens. I'll admit this isn't totally filling so it usually goes along with a little bit of whatever the kids are having too, ya know noodles, or spaghettios or mac 'n cheese. But I really am loving these salads. :)
An early morning jaunt outside. Umm yes she decided to wear only 1 mitten.
Wanting to put up the trampoline since we got it for Christmas, Ryan jumped at this wind free morning and got to work. Weird that I didn't get any pics of the tramp set up and us playing on it, having too much fun I guess, don't worry I'm sure they'll be plenty of happy jumping kids pictures in this blogs future.
Rather than help Daddy with the tramp Jaden took the opportunity to ford the lake that is our driveway.

Hot fresh cookies from the oven. Mmm Mmm good.
Here's what happened when I told her she couldn't have another one.

For our Friday play date I told Jaden to hold Bella's hand and walk her to the door while I got the bikes out. I was super surprised both children allowed this. Aww what sweet kiddos.
How cute is Violet helping Bella ride the BIG bike! So sweet!
Okay I know these aren't my kids but this was so sweet I couldn't resist. Big bro Russell helped Mity onto the bike then gave her a ride. Look at her holding on tight. Aww.
My sleepy kids adjusting to the time change. Oh and this new cough they've caught.
For some reason Bella thought it would be a good idea to take off her shirt and put on my jacket. *shrug*
I also took pics of my beautiful niece KayAnne in her blessing dress that her Grandma Cox made for her. SO Pretty! If you want to see more pics I'm sure Natalie will have some up on her facebook or blog soon.

Crazy February, Crazy Us

Here's a few pics to end out or February.

The stake had each ward do a 10min. roadshow and perform them for stake at 2 locations.
14th wards was a brilliant fairy tale court room scene where we learned the whole wicked queen and Snow White thing was just a terrible misunderstanding and that we shouldn't judge to quickly, it was really cute.
Our ward showed what unusual characters we may find when digging into our past: pirates, motorcycle gangs, wild west ruffians, genealogy sure can be interesting.

Here's Jaden with a dip stick he got from Russell. He tongue and teeth were so unbelievably green-blue! He thought it was hilarious! And delicious of course. :)

In our Bountiful Basket we ended up with a coconut. After looking up how to open a coconut Ryan went right to it.
Check out his concentration face as he tries to hit the nail and not his finger. Hee.
Ooo classy
It tasted, well like coconut. What a fun change of fruit choice. It is a fruit right?

Almost Spring? Or Winter Forever. . .

Well on what thought was likely to be the last snow of the season I thought it might be a good idea for the kids to get out and play in the snow. We invited our friends Russell and Amity over too. Oh and their parents cause they're fun too. :)

Jaden squinted into the brightness, perhaps it's been WAY too long since we've been outside.
Ryan got home from work early and got to come play too. Check out Russell's goggles, now theres some bright snow protection for ya!
Bella and Mity wondered around in this strange white world.
Bella got a turn in the sled too! Plenty of room for 3! And Daddy's big and strong. hee. Oh wait then why is he telling me to put the camera down and take a turn pulling. Doh.
Aww pretty Bella is loving the snow.
Wait then why is she giving me her "Can we go in now" face?
Oh yes because she refused to leave on the gloves I painstaking placed on those itty bitty hands and now they are FREEZING!

Oh well we all still had a great time in the snow! It can go away now. . . seriously snow GO AWAY!!!
