Sara's Party like it's 1983

 My wonderful Sara turned 30 this month and for her birthday she wanted to come to Blackfoot. She asked me if I could help her put together an 80's themed dance party. Heck yeah! Here it is in all it's glory

We all had such a fun time. I especially enjoyed getting a chance to dance with Sara. She's still my favorite dance partner (shh don't tell my hubby ;) ) Happy Birthday Sara! You're like totally awesome!

Hopefully I'll have a few more pictures here later after I steal them from Sara. ;)

KayAnne's (1/2) Birthday Party

KayAnne's birthday is 3 days before Christmas so to make her birthday more special and pretty much easier for all, her parents decided to celebrate her half birthday instead. 

Natalie had this party planned months in advance: Picnic at Ross Park and then swimming at the pool there, alas the weather had other ideas. It was very windy and quite a bit chilly. So a quick picnic, cake and presents was what KayAnne got. Fortunately she was all ready to go home and play with her presents so it was okay by her. :)

After the party we stopped by Home Depot to get the final bits we needed for our pergola. Ryan says "See it all fits. :)

Elder's Quorum Party

Ryan is in the Elder's quorum and one of the things he is in charge of is the activities. For June they chose a family BBQ. And of course the best place for a big BBQ is on the Yancey Island. Turnout was great. Food was great, and the people were great. I do believe everyone had a great time.

Price is Right Date Night

 Date night gets so tricky. Ryan and I are decidedly boring people. I'm not sure when, or exactly how it happened, but our creativity is lacking when it comes to dates. And although we love to be together just the two of us, we can't deny the fun that a few more people can add, after all we pretty much know each other pretty well by now. 

So when Sara asked if we wanted to go on a double date with them we jumped at the chance, well I jumped at the chance, Ryan grumbled a little cause he wanted to get some work done on the patio pergola, but he reluctantly jumped at the chance. ;) So earlier that day Sara and I searched for the perfect date we could do in a small town. Quickly discarding many ideas, because we figured our "boring" husbands would find them either too juvenile or too girly, we finally found something fun and that they would be good at. The Price is Right! We found it here at the Dating Divas. 

Essentially we print out some cards with the games on it and some super cool name tags and then went to Wal-Mart to see how price savvy we were. Yes it was going to be awesome!

An hour before the date Sara called up and said Nate was sick. Doh. All our perfect planning for naught! Ryan was devastated with a quick "well guess we can't go." But I already had babysitting set up and Sara and I put all that planning into it, by golly we were going to have fun! So the three of us went instead.

We started out at Tommy Vaughn's for some yummy child free dinner. We then went to Wal-Mart to fill out our cards. If nothing else I can guarantee that Ryan enjoyed this part. Sara and I decided we'd team up against Ryan hoping that our limited combined  pricing know how would somehow be enough to counter his. He chuckled continually as we discussed our answers. Unfortunately we could never gauge if he was laughing because we were too high or too low. So we chose. In Wal-mart we hunted down the products. Doing well on some games and not so well on others it came to the Showcase Showdown. We went over by  a ridiculous amount Ryan went over by $50 and over is over so the showcase was a bust. In the end Sara and I won thanks to a freezer pizza (Thanks Sara!) Woot!    

Ryan had to take us out for ice cream at Rupe's Yummy!

We had a blast! Sorry to Nate for missing it and thanks to Sara for making any time I spend with her awesome!

Father's day(s)

We did Father's day Saturday AND Sunday because our present for Daddy was that he could be a couch potato! He got to play what he wanted, eat what he wanted and watch what he wanted. We knew that Sunday wouldn't be the best day for this so Saturday was his day!

Jaden is crying because his X box controller is in there and it's still on. Hee.

Sunday Daddy hit the jackpot again. He got candy from the ward and a bag of candy from each child from the primary. They also made these cute all about my Dad sheets:

Pretty smart kiddos. Daddy was impressed. Oddly I didn't get a picture of Daddy on his day. Note to self, get a good picture of Daddy.

We also made some cute shirts and ties out of envelopes that had a Hershey bar inside that said "Grandpa's have the right to spoil whomever they choose and be spoiled themselves." We gave them to Grandpa Yancey and Grandpa Potter.

Jumpin' June

We've been having a good month. Lots of outdoor fun (which I haven't got pictures of because I was having too much fun) but here's a few things we've been up to.

Poor Olivia can hear the kiddos playing outside. She wants out too, C'mon Mom please?

I signed the kiddos up for the summer reading program. They are doing the story time in the park, earning prizes by reading, and get to go to the fun activity days. Here they got to decorate a cup and plant some seeds.
