Craters of the Moon

Saturday for Memorial Day we went with all of Ryan's family that live in Blackfoot to the cemeteries visiting Ryan's brother, grandparents, & uncles graves. The kids got to hear a few stories but mostly just ran around looking at flowers and pinwheels on other graves. We did also go visit some of my family and friend graves and I got to tell my kids a few stories myself. Then we all went back to Grandma and Grandpa Yancey's for cookies and ice cream. Our kids had tons of fun playing with their cousins there.

That left Monday wide open so we decided to take a trip to Craters of the Moon. The last time we were there was 2010 and Bella was just a baby. So we knew it'd be a whole different experience. Grandma and Grandpa Yancey came with us.

There caterpillars were EVERYWHERE.

Grandpa was nice enough to take this picture of us.

3 years ago I took a picture of Jaden in this exact spot. My how he's grown.
They had all these cool pictures explaining how the landscape was made. Bella kept asking where the lava was. She was so confused.

Bella's a bunny. Couldn't ya tell?

 Time for lunch!
Olivia snatched this cookie right out of Grandma's hand when she wasn't looking.
Bella enjoying some pop (seriously she's been waiting all day for it).

Jaden, well seriously I have no idea what Jaden is doing.

It was incredible how the beautiful flowers managed to grow right in the lava rock.

My baby girl was so tired, but that didn't stop Ryan from taking her in the cave anyway.

The kids were super excited to take their own flashlights.

 Yup, she's awake now.

We came out up top and had to make our way back to the path.

What is with that kid's posing? *shrug*
The caves were super fun. Jaden absolutely loved it. Bella enjoyed it too, but by the end she was getting pretty tired and those big rocks were quite a bit for her to maneuver.

My only regret for the day is this. Yup my poor baby got really sunburned. Bad mommy!

It was a great outing. I think we'll have to go again next year!

Fire Breathing Baby!

AHHHHH! It's a Fire Breathing  Baby! Run for your lives!!!

That is all. :)

Hair Cut!

I've been growing Bella's bangs out for her recital so that I could pull them back in the ponytail. Now that the recital is over we are both ready to have those bangs trimmed. She looked like those shaggy dogs that couldn't see cause of all the fur in their faces. So my usual place that I get my hair cut was booked full so I found Experience hair salon by a friend referral and Kristy fit us in.

This was the first time someone else has cut Bella's hair.
She didn't seem nervous at all. She hopped right up in the chair and held really still. She was so great!

Then she did it up all cute!

Yay for getting a hair cut!

Olivia is 8 months old!

Something is happening. Some strange magical force is changing my baby. She's bigger, busier, hungrier, and oh so difficult to contain. This magical force that some call "time" is making life both more hectic and more entertaining. Here's a few things my wee one has been up to this past while.

Playing with blocks.  And pretty much everything. She is now able to get into pretty much anything she sets her mind on.

Headbands are a no go now a days.  However I put them on her anyway, what would she play with if I didn't?

Finding super comfy ways to sleep.

Playing with brother and sister. Sure they do weird stuff, but she loves the attention, and they'll do pretty much anything to make her laugh.
Wait. . . . what is happening here?
 NOOOOO!
Well fine, if you're going to smile and be all cute about it.
Wait, no that's not safe. Time to get the gate. Time for the other kids to practice their jumping skills.
Oh that looks like a fun place you found to play.
Oh you're stuck you say? Put down the camera and get you outa there? Alright alright already.

Clearly there is something interesting that brother is doing up there.

How does she get up there? Why she simply climbs up the closest tree, er person.

Olivia's first ride on the 4-wheeler. Yeah I even let it happen. I promise he went really slow. She seemed to quite enjoy it.

And here she is sitting with Billy, or not so much sitting, truly she rarely sits at all WAY too busy moving and climbing.

She is also more communicative and often says Da Da Da or Mmmm she even said something that sounded like Jaden once and he totally claims it. She's quite a social girl and loves going out and seeing things and people, but she prefers to see it all from Mommy's arms. Love that girl!
