Yellowstone Day 2

The kids were initially very impressed with Old Faithful

So I did bring swimsuits in case it was warm enough to play in Yellowstone Lake. However it was not, the wind was blowing and the water was VERY cold. So we told the kids they could wade in the water. Parental mistake noted here. . . .you'll see.

As you can see kids do not know how to just wade in the water. :/

Lincoln was enjoying the feel of the sand on his toes.

 And his hands
So the problem with sand and thumbsuckers...

 ooo crunchy
Sorry bud back in the stroller for you.

Now that their clothes are all wet and sandy all they had left to wear was their swimsuits.
We saw quite a bit of  Bison  and some Elk much to Bella's delight.

So our plan was to eat in West Yellowstone this day but we had a bit of a problem since my kiddos were only wearing swimsuits. Fortunately we did find this nice outdoor place. The kids enjoyed playing on this baby bear statue thing while waiting for food!
We stayed the night in the trailer again and then packed up and headed home the next morning. It was a really fun trip even with a million bathroom stops and whining for snack. :)

Yellowstone day1

It's nearly August and we finally get to go somewhere as a family. Ryan took two days off and his boss was kind enough to lend us their nice trailer in Island Park to stay in, so we decided to take the kiddos to Yellowstone. We haven't been since Bella was a wee little thing.

Oh yes all smiles now! That's because we haven't even left the driveway yet. :)

The first pick is a candid of Lincoln. The second is when I told him to smile for the picture. Made me giggle.

We got rained on. It was Lincoln's first time in the rain. He handled it chill just as he does everything. :)

Bella took this pic of me and Ryan I was quite impressed with her photo skills!

 Back at camp

If the boy's cheeks look a bit red here that's cause they are. Since it was cloudy I forgot to sunscreen the poor boy and he got his first sunburn. Doh.
