Carving up that Jack!

Because of our Halloween Carnival Tuesday that we're suppose to take our decorated pumpkins to, we decided to carve our pumpkins Sunday evening.
Jaden was unsure what he was suppose to do. He was very hesitant to stick his hands in that big orange thing even after Daddy showed him what to do.
Yet he did not hesitate to try to stick his head in. *shrug*

When Ryan got his Jack-o-Lantern finished, Jaden was terrified of it! Crazy scared! Didn't help that dad would growl anytime it was near him. Course daddy growls all the time! We decided to use this to our advantage and put it in front of the drawers Jaden keeps getting into. Sure enough! Works just like a scarecrow! Bonus!

Jaden wasn't even too fond of putting his hands in the guts even after they were OUT of the pumpkin. But he was more than happy to poke the spoon at it.

Until Daddy moved his pumpkin too close.

Die Pumpkin Die!

The finished products. Ryan with his oh so classic Jack-o-Lantern face, and mine is pumpkin pi. Get it?

It's Falling!

Saturday we took a trip to Murrey Park and had a picnic and played in the leaves! Jaden really enjoyed it! (Sorry if the pics are a little dark. For me it depends on which monitor they're on. and the sound on the video is really loud. Sorry.)

Trick or Treat Street

Friday Jessica, Brooklyn, Jeremy, Jaden and I all went to Trick or Treat Street at the South Town Expo. The atmosphere was pretty neat. You walk around the outer edge that looks like it has houses and shops. Either waiting in the doorway is someone to trick or treat too, or sometime you had to knock on the door. There was also a mad scientist laboratory, a swamp shack and and a pirate ship that you actually got to go inside to trick or treat at. Once done with that in the center was a bunch of games and face painting.

Jessica and I both brought our strollers thinking it would be the easiest way, but Brooklyn got fussy in hers in the parking lot and inside Jaden got scared. This was unusual. Jaden never gets scared, but I guess he wasn't fond of the dark. So I held him and Jeremy pushed both the strollers. He said people would think he was a polygamist. Funny thing is when I told Ryan about it he said the exact same thing! So funny! The thought never would have crossed my mind!

Anyway, Jaden calmed down and had a good time. Both the little ones were so cute!
My little Frog Prince. Yup, that's a big 'ol smooch on his cheek!
A frog and a ladybug sitting in perfect harmony. . . for half a second!

That's me and my little frog prince. I was suppose to be his princess. Can you tell?

The four of us in front of the pirate ship.

Once in the middle I let Jaden walk around a bit. Hilarious in those big floppy feet, but he didn't seem to mind.

"Uh-Oh"

Last Sunday the 19th Jaden learned to say Uh-oh at church. He was playing with Sister Peterson's highlighters and whenever he dropped them (or threw them) she would say uh-oh. Before long Jaden started saying it too. He now says it all the time around the house. He'll drop something over his highchair and say "Uh-oh" he'll push something off the couch or computer desk and say "uh-oh". He'll sometimes even say it right before he drops something, or he might say it just for the fun of it or to get my attention. It usually works.

So we are now up to 3 words. Da Da, Ma Ma, and Uh-Oh!

Just as a little side note, Jaden is learning how to be helpful. . . or at least trying. When I'm doing the laundry and folding up the hand towels and putting them in a pile on the floor to take to the kitchen when I'm done, he'll pick them up for me and put them back in the basket. What a super helper! Also this morning when he pushed my hand and made me spill malt-o-meal all over his tray he took the hand towel from his lap and started wiping it up.

What a Sweet little helper!

Hurricane Jaden

Hurricane Jaden Strikes again! This time in the kitchen. His curiosity is causing him to get into more and more things he's not suppose to. I did "babyproof" the kitchen for the most part, but this is no baby. This is Hurricane Jaden! In this instance I was a little preoccupied with the scrap page I was making. I thought he was just playing with the pots, which I allow him to do. Well when I went in to check on him cause he was being too quiet this is what I found. . .
Jaden trying to leave the scene of the crime, but the proof is all over his face. (click on the pic for a close up) Eww dirt eater!
He got into a little more than just the pots!

More Randomness

What's on the Yancey camera since I last posted? Well here it is. I didn't fell like making several sperate entries, so here ya go all in one! I call it Randomness.

First Snow!
Last Sunday we woke up to this! Yup lots of the white stuff! It was gone by the time we went to church at 1, but there it was.

Dog with stick?
So Jaden somehow managed to pull up the trimboard under the glass door in the kitchen. He even somehow managed to get it into the living room. . .

The trick was getting it back in the Kitchen!
I know I shouldn't let him play with that, but you gotta admit, that's freakin' funny!

Ravioli!
I got tired of feeding Jaden. He eats so fast I can't get a bite in and since we were sharing ravioli for lunch, that meant I wasn't getting any. So I plopped some down on the tray and let him have at it. Did he like it that way? . . .

Sure did!

Mmmm messy. Things always taste better when their messy! Now I just have to figure out how to get out ravioli stains from his clothes. . . his bib . . . the floor. . . his tray. . .

My New Baby!
There she is! My new baby! Isn't she beautiful! a 22 inch, wide flatscreen to compliment our 19 inch that we already had. Excessive? yeah probably, but now hubby can watch tv while I play on the computer (our computer is also our tv. That's the antenna off the picture on the left). This is how we handle the rising of an economic depression. Hee!

Pumpkin Patch

Yay The pumpkin patch! Jaden wasn't near as excited as I had hoped. He seemed to have very little interest in these big orange things. I on the other hand, thought it was great!

Aw my handsome boys!

Apple!

The other day Jaden comes up to me at the computer and gives me an apple. We had a bag of apples tied up sitting on the floor in the kitchen. Since he gave it to me I ate it! He watched then went back in the kitchen and brought out another apple and started knawing on it. He loved it! He laughed and chewed and giggled and smiled and threw it on the floor getting the carpet sticky. He thought it was the perfect thing ever! A ball that is also a food! He now gets an apple everyday, but at his high chair and well washed.

All that Jazz

Yesterday Jeremy got us tickets to a Jazz preseason game. For those of you who may not know, my brother works as their sound guy and occasionally gets free tickets, though it's been a good while since we've been to a Jazz game. What with them being so good and selling out on all their tickets.
Here we are just chilling. We were a bit early. Those seats filled in pretty quickly.

Jaden loved the warm-up. He danced to the music and laughed at all the balls flying to the hoop in perfect order like some ball ballet.

Reach for it!

Here's where we sat. Yup we were quite a ways up there. Jeremy's sound booth is over on the left hand side of the picture. I tried to get a picture of him, but my zoom wasn't strong enough.

Yup that's Shaq! He didn't play all that great but my goodness he was so big! Okay all basketball players are big, but he looked like he ate one of his team mates for breakfast!

At half time the Wheel Jazz came out and played. They were pretty impressive and of course the bear was there to help!
We left right after half time. There was a moment when I thought Jaden would go to sleep, but the moment passed and Jaden screamed and kicked to be let down which of course was not an option. After he kicked the people in front of us twice and was actually screaming louder than the music we decided it was time to go.

And last but not least, Jaden with a Jazz dancer!
When we first got there the Jazz Dancers were greeting just inside the doors. I got Jaden's picture taken with one of them. He will so appreciate this more when he's older. Ryan said he wished a Jazz dancer would hold Him like that. Rather than pretend to be angry at him for the comment, I laughed and genuinely couldn't stop laughing. It was a pretty funny visual actually.

Lots of people commented on our little Jazz fan's outfit (thanks Cory) and even though we left early we still had a great time! Thanks Jeremy. Oh um.... who won? We were down by just a few baskets when we left.
